Maya Earth Coffee subscribes to the “circle-around” business model (as opposed to the trickle down model) which strives to keep money, goods and resources circulating among the greatest amount of people focused towards the greatest amount of good.  This model is based on the premise that we are guardians, not owners of the resources that we receive, and thus, it is our duty to share those resources with others within and around the circle.  A quote from Sri Aurobindo succinctly summarizes this philosophy. “All wealth belongs to the Divine and those how hold it are trustees, not possessors. It is with them today, tomorrow it may be elsewhere.  All depends on the way they discharge their trust while it is with them, in what spirit, with what consciousness in their use of it, to what purpose”.

We believe in fair trade for Guatemala’s coffee producers and for our not-for-profit partners here in the United States. Together, we can build a better future for everyone.
